That could be why??

Yet more powder fell over night making it a no-brainer as to what I'd be doing today. After destroying my feet yesterday I realized that they call 'em snowshoes for a reason. It was much more fun today as the crampons were able to serve a purpose. I tried my gaiters that I've had for years and tied them down better than in the past which was worth their weight in gold for not having to deal w/the ice balls that accumulate down the back of my lower legs. I also tucked my laced up in them so they wouldn't freeze too. My legs were a bit tired and it was as though I suffered from ADHD because I had such a desire to change the route so frequently. I hit it all, Colby Ave(plowed gravel road to simulate race day for those in the know), SHT, deer trails, snomo trails, ski trails(don't tell anyone-they weren't groomed anyway), MTB trails, backcountry, snowbanks along 52nd Ave E after coming off Hawk Ridge to jump on the Grant-In-Aid-Trail, and the RIVER! I've wanted to do this all winter but I told Jen I want to survey the scene next fall to know deep and current spots. I followed a pair of ojibwa snowshoe tracks snaking thru what felt like a gorge at moments when suddenly they went up to the road. I stood there looking under the bridge thinking it was intriguing to continue when I heard flowing water beneath me. A trekking pole jabbed thru the ice and I could see the movement which prompted to get off onto dry land. They rest of the day was uneventful...
