skiing hungover

Yeah, I got sloshed on New Year's Eve down at Adam Sundberg's bash! Once puking a handful of times according to Jen in our own home(at least I spared my buddy the mess unlike some poor souls) I would passout to face a lovely morning or was that afternoon?? I don't experience the throbbing head like some people talk about. Rather, just a pile of shit that won't be moving too swiftly until later on. Around 7:30 PM Jen and I would walk over to the ski trails for some under the lights action. Temperatures couldn't have been nicer for after sundown and we are feeling more comfortable already on the waxless gear we got in only the second use. Getting to the point where if we went any further then there'd be no light on the subject I convinced her to venture in the dark w/me in the skate lane shining lumens from a headlamp as she stayed in the track. The day before I had a near fall during my run in the same exact place I dumped my bike a couple weeks earlier. A sudden correction to keep myself upright as I slipped gave a pull to the left groin muscle. It was a bit tender while my skis didn't always want to glide parallel to each other. This was good though as I now know the severity of the injury isn't much to be concerned about.

On my run this afternoon I felt like there was some depth in the legs. These are sensations that I look for everytime when training. A subjective signal as they are for some reason or another mean more to me than any objective data gathered from HR correlations. Being in tune w/the big picture has done more for my confidence as well. However, a clocking up a steep ascent or whatever landmark one may use to assess can serve as ironclad proof. I began in the opposite direction heading up 58th Ave E to leap into the singletrack and take it up top. I followed some of the blue dots in Hawk Ridge to the Amity Creek Trail. From there I went to Oak Street to try and find a piece of narrower snomo trail I see crossing the nordic system prior to reaching I/J. It must enter private property as I took the snowshoe course back to the nordic trail and went backwards shortly to the snomo trail I was hoping to get on. I'll just have to take it from inside the park next time.
