rain cleansed me

Being outdoors Thursday during the shower made for a congestion free environment. I've had a slight cough since from a little post nasal drip but nothing I'm concerned over. The week came pretty easy for a guy that is approaching clydesdale status. Other than the handful of quarters yesterday, everything is moving well. I'll stay in tune w/my body until the end of the month and then decide whether I might run w/Jen instead of race. I know after State Cyclocross this coming Saturday my head will shut down and holiday eating patterns will commence immediately!! I really had an itch to pedal in the woods today but after seeing a hunter walking right down the blacktop on Lester River Road carrying his rifle I choose to keep inside the city limits...

Workload: four hours of commuting, [Tu]ran up Lester River Road to the powerlines crossing @ Moose Mountain Drive; 24:45 out w/147 avg HR and 21:45 back w/avg HR of 149 [Th]ran up Seven Bridges Road to where it ends @ Maxwell and returned in 33 minutes w/avg HR of 138 bpm [Sa]ran over to Brighton Beach for 5x400 meters w/recovery being the same as the bout; tried to keep these efforts slightly faster than 5k race pace and splits were 80, 77, 79, 77, 77 seconds [Su]spun up Lester River Road and headed west toward Martin and Vermillion before reaching the lake; 95 minutes w/avg HR of 118
