I went to Chester Bowl for another NMTC that was sure to zap the strength from my legs. There was a nice turnout on a perfect evening but I was able to contain myself and not be competitive like the last one. Since the Goat Run didn't have timing I wore my HR monitor to compare with past and future years. After starting the course doing the ski trail against the arrows I knew I could really dig deep after rounding the light post but that wasn't in my best interest for today. I'm really trying to find that effort that I might be able to sustain for the Bjorklund in three and a half weeks. No soreness to mention following completion and I placed ninth among strong participants. One thing I worked on hard throughout was downhill striding. This might be difficult of late because I just can't seem to find the high cadence that usually comes naturally. Oh well, I am focusing on an ultra so maybe it is in my subconscious mind to keep that from happening.
