This morning Dave Pipho and I went down to the little business district in Lakeside to park his vehicle and head down 45th Ave E and get on Grandma's course. Our goal was to do some up-tempo efforts to get an idea of how fast to run the Bjorklund half. After warming up for more than a mile we did a hard mile(6:06) followed by an easy mile, two miles hard(12:05) followed by a couple easy, another hard mile(6:18) with more than two miles for a cooldown. This workout gave me a load of confidence that I can shoot for something a bit more lofty than I was thinking. I had my HR monitor programmed to beep at me when I wondered out of my LT zone. I kept it on the low end most of the time and felt very comfortable. As long as I stay healthy I'm optimistic about the summer!
Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
Mileage: ~10 1/2
avg HR: 153 bpm
