Mix & Match

Motivation, aspiration, desire, or whatever fuels the fire within is the general topic here. In context, for me, being the best all-rounder that is humanly possible seems to be the direction of focus. Training as a specialist in one particular discipline is a strong argumentative idea when talking about performing at your highest level but I'm willing to accept mediocrity across the board in order to be in the game of various fields of play! However, taking on this challenge to compete above & beyond my personal records is something I welcome and is giving me new vigor!! Gregg and I met up this morning for a pleasant run in some drizzle while chatting over said philosophy. We both felt that people often sacrifice so much for a huge build to a grand event(recovery after too). If you're stoked about a certain race then we both say, GO FOR IT but it is nice to leave an exit should you want to chase another goal. Covering all of Bagley and Chester Bowl near his place set me off for the second half alone navigating Hartley, Fryberger Arena, SHT, Amity Creek, and Lester which yielded 2:19. Body parts felt really good while trying to generate some people out of the larger gluteal muscles around the hips. Yesterday, I worked on some technique drills for cyclocross by pulling out some deadfall from the woods to use as a barrier practicing dismounts and remounts. Bobbling a top tube grip in hurdling the log once caused me to somehow twist my foot and made for a sore junction behind the big toe. Any bit of intensity makes it hurt still now but allowing my foot to relax and flex with every stride must have loosened a degree or two...
