I'm very happy right now when active as my behavior toward exercise is far removed from its usual occurrence!! Unprecedented would be wrongful of me to say but I cannot recall the last time I ran 6 of the 7 days on any given week and did not ride other than for the purpose of commuting from work. Being in a habit of training as much as possible on foot right now is crucial to the longevity of my cycling season. Normally, spring training on the bike for me is from late February to late April but this year I'm not even wanting to get on it until May. Cyclocross is my primary focus of 2011 and the season even carries over into 2012 which is really hard to comprehend presently. The phrase, getting too much of a good thing, certainly rings true to me. So, I've made the conscious decision to stay away from my steeds and run as its substitute during a four-week block. However, this proposed a challenge in years past as my body couldn't even withstand the abuse of going two consecutive days. Since the introduction of minimal shoes I can honestly vouch for the way they have qualitatively & quantitatively improved my experiences in the sport. Praise the Lord for that because I won't dip into a pool that often!!!!! Otherwise, I hope to be outside most every day but never forcing it. I plan to race a lot this spring and summer using it to benefit the autumn and winter months. Plus, I'm taking a lot of time away from work to enjoy life apart from the athletic side. A calendar of events is forming as I've been paying entry fees this afternoon. New venues are heavily sought after which has me excited to join Gregg for this one he passed on to me. Another form of participation will come in helping crew Tony in his debut 100.
