gray indicators

Ya know, it's funny w/all the modern technology in GPS, cadence sensor, HR monitor, power meter, etc etc etc...you still have to understand you!!! I'm not saying that acquiring values from these instruments are inaccurate or useless but if an individual is unsure how to make the necessary correlations then progress is difficult to evaluate.

Running w/Chris Rubesch this afternoon again was nice as we see eye to eye on our methodology of training, being effort alone. Today was one of those where I'd have to read beyond the lines. Even HR monitors can be taken w/a grain of salt on occasion as I've got a bone fide example: 1) Ascending the park inland on familiar terrain and noticing many splits before this current trip I had trouble reasoning thru a strong pace while having a low HR and feeling like a piece of shit. 2) Polar opposite circumstance has been when scampering a weak pace displaying a high HR and experiencing a blissful sensation. Why is this?? This is when I just resort to the good ole fashion RPE scale.
