even keel

Today I set up a loop that I figured might take me around an hour to complete. My goal was to ride it comfortable the first time and do it again at a similar pace. Oddly enough, I grinded thru the route only twenty seconds faster on lap two. I wasn't looking at splits near checkpoints either. Lester River Road started this out nicely and then it was over to Medin that has a kicker at the top if heading west. Everything beyond that summit was tame making my way to Wallace and down to Superior. Attention was made to avoid intersections to keep the tempo steady. Climbing was awesome because my fluid pedal stroke has returned and I'm loving it! Following this ride up in a couple weeks w/a different ratio and other changes to the machine will be interesting. Since I plan on being on the bike more or less everyday for the next month that is sure to correct an inefficiencies too.

As for my run home yesterday morning after work I realize that striding it out on the pavement is going to have to stop until winter. Training loads on the bike will approach 20 hours/week which makes me feel like the LORD OF THUNDER QUADS. Body parts hurt w/a gait that matches physique. Plus, I don't understand what the big deal is about North Shore Bank of Commerce triggering me to fertilize the lawn. I'd say this has occurred 75% of the time when my route passes by. Maybe I've developed some sort of associative disorder to take a dump on that lot...
