Lakeside isn't that BIG
Been on a couple hard runs lately that got me motivated. Few days ago I did a progressive-tempo/negative split effort. I tend to like these as they give me a really good indication of whether I'm currently holding my own or a sack of shit. Routing the loop for this workout I realized that a person could do an ultra if he/she weaved every road & avenue but I like to feel like I get around town when passing thru the neighborhood. However, you may sum the better part of an hour by doing the perimeter at best. So, I think I may choose this format on the pavement quite often being my sense of pace is rather awful. Yesterday, I took to the snomo trails for some "fartlek" on the return. I'm aware of the net loss in elevation but that slush felt like running on water during each burst. The whole body was firing synergistically and it was great!! The bike is also rolling well and I haven't missed a day since vacation. Fatigue will be my companion on "the road" as Charlie Farrow and Tim Ek refer to their obsession.
