streak ends

It's been since late January or early February that I've had to hitch an alternate mode of transportation to or from work. I hopped on and didn't even get to cross the centerline on 60th Ave E and my rear tire BLEW! I was aware that the sidewall casing had a bulge and was going to swap it out on the weekend(or sooner) and well.....ya know the rest. Fortunately, Jen had planned on coming home right after work so she got me there in time. It turned out the weak spot occurred near the stem and stressed a crack at the base where the rubber is reinforced. So, I remove the core from the valve of a new tube and slimed it. Having plenty of old racing tires I found a mate to my front and I made the repair on my breaks at work to make the commute home as I always did before.

Prior to this fiasco I got in some more foot action in Lester. I can tell I'm getting excited for cyclocross as I have a natural tendency to leap & bound more of late. There is one more brute that stands between me and that season yet.

Trail Run: 1 hour 22 minutes
Commuter Pedal: 30 minutes
