With spring finally here it has me wanting to leave the open roads behind for the dirt. Maybe the reason why I haven't enjoyed running this week so far?? I think it is more in my head than anything and I need to rekindle my spirit somehow. I had nice rhythm today with my arms pumping in sync with every stride. Amazing how much of a strain it takes away from the legs when the upper body is involved. I'm usually quite passive on the tarmac and don't experience this too often. I have no excuse to not do the Fitger's 5k this weekend but I only wish I could go into it expected something a little more. However, we've all been dealt a good hand in these circumstances so I'll just go out there and give 'r!! During the first couple of miles I simulated a warmup for a race this distance w/accelerations and seemed to get prepped OK.
