sense of adventure
I was looking for something different this afternoon w/the realization that I've got too many irons in the fire to accomplish a big training load for the week. Recent precip had me thinking of a challenge that I'm going to hopefully do in its entirety later during autumn season. Running up Oneida and a steep gradient of trail @ the top of 43rd Ave E to reach Hawk Ridge I then jumped onto the SHT. Bringing it around to Amity I decided to starting investigating some of the spurs leading down to the creek bed. Water levels are much higher now but as they recede my goal is to traverse a lot of the flow by bouldering my way down to the mouth in Lake Superior. I got wet feet today which was a given before I even stepped out the door. Removing myself from effort, distance, blah blah blah was revitalizing for a change. Once coming under the sixth bridge I had to negotiate a rock outcropping w/rapids behind me and inflicted a sternal abrasion while hugging tight as not to get swept away to clear it(not smart when alone)! Otherwise, logjams in some locations and pooling near embankments might interfere. Well, back to swapping out componentry on both the mountain and cyclocross steads...
