mechanicals

I guess it's better now than next weekend. While flowing through the Lester ski trails up to Amity Creek I noticed some popping of the chain not engaging the teeth of either the cog or ring. After checking to see that my rear wheel hadn't been pulled forward in the dropouts on the drive side the only thought that came to mind was.....is the tension too sloppy? Nope, as I continued on more smooth & flat trail I looked down to see one of my chainring bolts unthreading itself!!! I turned around to roll fortunately downhill to Seven Bridges Road to get home w/o stressing this new component any further. Turns out all four of them were very loose and will inspect this again tomorrow. Hopefully, if there are no interruptions then I'll be able to make it to Hartley and put in some time there prior to work. Racing MTB down on Afton Alps this weekend makes sense now. For those that have visited know it is all tough climbing and washboard descents. Brutal courses like this let a person be certain their machine is ready.
