seniority on the job

Never in all my years at work have I had so much difficulty in getting days off! There's no getting around it, I just happen to be on the losing end. Since the retirement of my previous supervisor we all realize that things were really good for us. Oh well, his replacement is fine and going strictly by the book will only take acceptance on our part. Some marquee events have been scratched and fortunately I didn't preregister for any of them. As they say, back to the drawing board.
