toughen my grips

Covering the loop on foot yesterday was really nice as I was trying hard to just keep it easy. Tuesdays will be this kind of day following one off. I won't mind at all seeing the pace end at 9:00/mile. I would first go to where Jefferson and Greysolon converge and then head to Avondale and Juniata to gain a little elevation prior to ending it. Joints in general were sore...perhaps, because I'm not weathered for the cold yet??

Today I rode my MTB in the woods doing what will probably be the usual this winter. It's great having new trail as the seasons change. Once across Vermillion, I took a singletrack piece that I've been on in the past over to a hill above the duck pond in the cemetery. People just don't use 'em enough during the greener months. Since trading the cyclocross bike for the MTB my hands are giving me indications that they're weak and maybe I should climb a little less aggressively for awhile until they catch up. Passing thru Hartley is a must if I'm on my way to work upon leaving the dirt behind. Otherwise, it doesn't get much nicer than this for now.
