Goat Run
The NMTC series in the spring and fall come in handy at times when all you need is a little pep and you can't seem to get it done on your own. I never plan on doing these races because they're always there for the taking if one decides to. These events are usually very casual .....then when spontaneity hits.....what lures people to show up is evident. Course conditions can be epic as they were this evening! With hills, rocks, mud, and water on the menu it can bring out the tenacity in anyone. Many times people show up w/the intention to get an up tempo effort in but sometimes the field of participants can change your plans. After making the bike ride from home over to the Piedmont area I noticed familiar faces as expected. Dave Pipho and myself led the charge up the opening climb. Once over the top, Andy Holak joined the mix and we had a good battle until we came back to Skyline. I ended up in the bronze medal position and felt really good on everything minus the descents. Haven't got a time yet as I didn't peak at the clipboard.
