new shoes

I was looking forward to our team order to come in because the only pair I own currently are my inov8 rocklite 305 trail runners. I got them a little short and will hold off using them until spring to wear them w/o socks to make room. I like them a lot but not on pavement. I got the Mizuno Wave Precision 8 and did a test run on the roads today. Having taken the day off from work for no real reason I didn't hurry to leave. I went around the cemeteries on Woodland Ave to find my way to Vermillion & Pleasant View before getting home just at dusk. I found the right match for my feet at last!!! Sometimes they don't quite perform like you thought when trying 'em on in the shop but not this go around. I couldn't have asked for anything more other than some energy. No sensation of pain and I'm sure this gear swap made the difference. I'm hoping to finally put a cap on a solid week. I decided to erase the snowshoe events from my schedule as I just don't have the passion for it this season. Nor does it piece into my puzzle for the year. I'd be wasting resources and time by competing when I'm far off race shape. A block of good training should remain most important for the next month.

Duration: 1 hour 5 minutes
Mileage: 8.5
