greazy

More cyclocross action this past Sunday down @ Green Acres in Lake Elmo. With the impending forecast, this weekend could be more of the same. The route took us in a cow pasture w/many hairpin turns on sloppy ground!! In addition, the course had a lot of off camber but in those spots it was drier. Soupy conditions were just knifed through w/o loads of it flung up onto your back. Everyone had to hose their bikes but the matter rinsed clean easily. One monster climb along a tubing hill forced me to dismount and run each lap which had me unable to keep in touch w/the leaders after a fast rollout start heading straight @ the beast. I raced among the CAT 3's for the only time this year as there wasn't a single speed category. My result was seventh out of 29 riders which left me very pleased since I was middle of the pack fill off the line. Passing was difficult and frustrating just waiting for people that can't ride the mud to bobble and open a door for a pass. Oh well, there's good practice to be gained from an experience like it...
